21st century skills

 WHAT IS IT?

The term 21st century skills refers to a broad set of knowledge, skills, work habits, and character traits that are believed by all academic subject areas, and all educational, careers, and civic settings to be critically important to success in today’s world, particularly in collegiate programs and contemporary careers and workplaces.

The four C’s of 21st Century skills are some of the most popular learning strategies in today’s environment.

The four C’s are:

• Critical thinking
• Creativity
• Collaboration
• Communication

Critical thinking is all about solving problems.

Creativity teaches students to think outside the box.

Collaboration shows students how to work together to achieve a common goal.

Communication lets students learn how to best convey their ideas.
